The Year of the No-Hitter...

Malcom McKinney
Last time we checked into this no-hitter stuff, it was on May the 24th, 2012. It was the Rock River Rats playing host to the New York Ninjas, and the 3,565 fans were treated to a No-Hitter.

The Jersey Jesters 70th Rd Pick, Malcom McKinney did so on just 107 pitches, 73 of which were strikes.

Let's go ahead and take another look, oh wait, what is that we have TWO more no hitters. That's great, since this is 'The Year of the No-Hitter' and everything....

It's actually pretty crazy, as I can't remember last time I saw so many thrown. As a whole, I think ABL is more-less a hitters league yet in the minors, the no-hitters are way up?

Something to look forward too?

Bruce Jefferson (SDT-AA
Jacksonville Tomcats)
Doubt it, some of you guys are playing with loaded decks—tons of super duper old guys through-out the minors, but I'm getting off topic. Let's go ahead and look at the two latest.

Mr. Jefferson, on 6/25 threw the no-hitter in front of only 1,685 fans in San Jose Municipal Stadium where the Silicon Valley Hackers play (and currently sit in 2nd place) behind...

Daniel 'Double D' Diaz
(SOC-AA
Riverside Red Bulls)
The Riverside Red Bulls. On 06/08 they had their own no-hitter thrown by, the 18 year old, Daniel 'Double D' Diaz who on the year is 9-1, with a 3.52 ERA, in 102.1IP while allowing 11 home runs and striking out 103 to 30 walks. His whip sits comfortable at 1.12.

All in all, this season has been absolutely crazy for no-hitters across all leagues in the ABL-Universe.

Very interested where all this leads to going forward.
