Triple AAA SP Will Martin from the Boston organization hurled a no-no this past sim. This Springfield farmhand pitched a crafty game versus Detroit, going 9 innings, allowing only 2 walks and fanning 7 in an efficient 103 pitch outing.  14,955 fans were on their feet during the last out as Aaron Heller flew out. Martin was right on his game through all 9 innings including striking out 2 in the last frame. Detroit managed only 4 baserunners of which 2 got on via errors by the Reformers.

Martin has been a streaky pitcher in the past. Earlier this season he had a 5 game winning streak in 6 starts.  His stats so far this year in AAA ball: 13 GS, 7-4 record, 1.03 WHIP, 78 Ks in 91 IP while allowing only 73 hits.

Nathan Wilson Pitches No-Hitter

May 29 Las Vegas 0, Boston 1. Nathan Wilson pitches a no-hitter—and Wilson is the last person in St. Sebastian's Cathedral to find out.

Wilson induces Joker Troy Tracy to ground to second for the game's final out. The dome erupts in cheers, but Wilson, eyes focused intently on the ground ahead of him, starts to walk back to the mound, as if to face the next batter. Catcher George White races up to him, slaps him on the back and makes to grasp him in a bear hug, but Wilson jumps back, startled.

While White yells "you did it!" a shocked Wilson looks to the scoreboard, back to White, and back to the scoreboard—only then realizing that he's just completed a no-hitter and breaking out in a huge grin.

On May the 24th, 2012 it was the Rock River Rats playing host to the New York Ninjas, and the 3,565 fans were treated to a No-Hitter.

The Jersey Jesters 70th Rd Pick, Malcom McKinney did so on just 107 pitches, 73 of which were strikes.

On the season in 11 games, McKinney has started 9 and currently has a 1.43 era, in 69 innings allowing 42 hits, a homer—and walking 17 while striking out 55. His WHIP is 0.86.

ABL's First 20-Game Hitting Streak on Hold

Brian Adams of the Kansas City Tornadoes certainly lived up to the term "designated hitter" in the month of April for the team from the Midwest. Adams batted .363 in the month of April for the Tornadoes and took the ABL's first-ever 20-game hitting streak into the first day of May.

On May 1, Adams continued his torrid hitting, going 3-for-5 against the team from So Cal with a single, double, and his 5th homer, raising his batting average to .374 and extending his hitting streak to 21 games. Unfortunately for Adams, the continued pursuit of this hitting streak is going to be on ice for awhile. On his seventh inning double, Adams strained a rib cage muscle and had to be removed for a pinch-runner. Further diagnosis determined that injury was serious enough to land him on the 15-day disabled list.

Ray Lester Finally Gives One Up

But that's it, just one. A single run over 36 2/3 innings pitched.

Ray Lester, of the San Francisco Earthquakes, started the inaugural ABL season throwing 31 shutout innings, a record that is unlikely to be broken anytime soon.

It took Minnesota's Dale Watson crushing a home run for 415 feet to break the streak. Predictibly, it was Minnesota's only hit of the inning and their only run of the game. The Earthquakes answered the home run resoundingly, scoring six runs in the top of the following inning.
