TML Homestretch

by Josh Swain

The Munson League, much like the Clemente League, has two divisions wrapped up or essentially wrapped up, one tight division and a great wild card chase down the stretch.

TML Earl Weaver

Boston  97-53 - CLINCHED

Though Cabo and Los Angeles are having respectable seasons, Boston ran away and clinched last sim and will more than likely be the first ABL team to 100 wins. With two more wins they clinch the #1 seed in the league.

TML Billy Martin

San Francisco  85-64
Maple          83-66 - 2 GB

Both teams have losing September records, and San Francisco had dropped six straight before beating Las Vegas last night. Maple has lost three of four, and this division could be decided by who can actually finish the month with a winning record.

San Francisco: 3  @ LAS, 3  @ MAP, 3 @ JER, 4 @ SOU
Maple:         3 vs MIL, 3 vs SFE, 3 @ SOU, 4 @ JER

San Francisco is on the road for the rest of the month and has a harder schedule. Those three games they play at Maple at the end of this week could be the deciding factor. This should be a fun one.

TML Sparky Anderson

Las Vegas  86-64
Mile High  77-72 - 8.5 GB

The magic number is five for Las Vegas. Like Seattle and Minnesota, it would be pretty devasting to lose a lead this lead this late, but, alas, it's baseball.

Las Vegas: 3 vs SFE, 3 vs MIL, 3 @ KAN, 3 vs EUR
Mile High: 3  @ MAP, 3  @ LAS, 3 @ EUR, 4  @ KAN

Mile High plays all on the road while Vegas only has three of 12 on the road. This division is all but sewn up.

TML Wild Card

Los Angeles     84-66
Maple           83-66 -  .5 GB
Cabo San Lucas  82-67 - 1.5 GB

With Maple and Cabo going 6-8 and 5-10 in the month of September, Los Angeles has charged to take the wild card lead with a 10-5 record in the month. In fact Cabo may have saved their season with the recent game sweep of San Fransisco.

Los Angeles:    3 vs KAN, 3 vs JAC, 3  @ CAB, 3  @ BOS
Maple:          3 vs MIL, 3 vs SFE, 3  @ SOU, 4  @ JER
Cabo San Lucas: 3 vs SOU, 3 vs BOS, 3 vs CAB, 4 vs JAC

All three teams have two tough series and two easier ones. While Los Angeles and Maple will spend half their time on the road, Cabo has all 13 remaining games at home. If Maple can survive it's first six with a good record, they have an easier last week. The series between Cabo and Los Angeles in Cabo may knock one of them from the race. Can Cabo overcome a horrid start and tons of injuries to take it down? Can Los Angeles keep up their current surge and claim the last spot? Or will Maple turn around its September and outlast the other two? It will be very interesting. All three teams have top six staffs in the TML. Should be fun!
