Did you know....
|
Tony Davidson |
... on July 5,
Tony Davidson of
New Orleans pitched
a PERFECT game! A model of efficiency, he threw just 102 pitches!
|
Justin Robinson |
|
Ted Mills |
... on June 10 not one but TWO no hitters were recorded, by
Ted Mills of Bethesda and
and
Justin Robinson of Coney Island.
... that the
Bethesda Hornets are 9-0 vs the
Stingrays and
Sabercats.
... that the Bethesda Hornets have the top 3 OBP players in Single-A:
Jeff Millman,
Dwane Sparks, and
Tim LeBlanc.
|
Tony Scott |
|
Jorge Jaimes |
... that
Tony Scott of
Cherry Hill is locked in a battle for the most Singe-A whiffs with
Jorge Jaimes of the
Stingrays. They both have 143! Bad news is that they are position players. I have a feeling the Jaimes is going to win the dubious distinction of leading the league in K's because ... Scott was PROMOTED to AA ball! That's right, .222/.265/.216 earned him a kick upstairs. What's he doing at AA? .189/.231/.216. But before you start taking shots at Tony, be warned that scouts say this 18-year old can steal bases, has a good eye, hits for power, and has good base running instincts. However, most scouts project that he will not win any awards for scholastic achievement. So a mixed bag.
... And, finally, that the New Orleans Jedi Knights are on an 18 game winning streak. The Jedi play the
Frosties the next two games. Can they keep the streak alive? If not, Bethesda is in the rear window with their own 10 game streak.
