SD FANS HOPPING HAPPY AFTER QUICK START....

The heady aroma of Cascade hops permeated the back room where San Diego manager Antonio Martinez was sharing a magnum of Stone Double Bastard Ale with his cronies, the Browns, Emmet and Rich, the youngster of the group, pitching coach, Francisco Ocampo and hitting guru, Jose Segura.

"Compadres, we are off to a great start, Thompson es fiero, and Ortiz, is Angel, as always. Cisco, the flaw in Sharp's delivery you saw, excellente, for his first win. Jose, what are you feeding my boys? Or is it you Richie?"

______

A lot of tweaks to the SD roster are starting to pay off: the Japanese infield is coming through while Vasquez is phased out; Thompson and Turner speeding atop the lineup, and a rotation that averages in the mid twenties age-wise looking to mature faster than expected (Kanno!).

Early days, but to be enjoyed while the rest of the nation endures a cold front, it is sunny in San Diego. Not to mention tasty (do try the Double Bastard my friends).
