The Dallas Texans have signed 33 year old FA pitcher Jamie
Perkins to a 1 year $1M deal. Perkins has been brought in to fill the void in
the rotation left by the injury to SP Ken Conrad. "We really didn't have
anyone available to call up, so we thought we would examine the market".
Perkins is not a high profile pitcher by any means, but the Texans feel like he
can come in and do a serviceable job. Perkins has a career 4.64 ERA, but is
particularly tough on right handed pitchers. VS righties, he's a career 3.78
ERA, so he should have his moments where he's tough to hit for some line ups.
