Jesse Clark has had a nickname
for some time in the Dallas locker room, but now it's made it out to the fans.
With Clark leading all Texans in Jersey and memorabilia sales (just ahead of
Tom Owens), his team regularly refers to him as "The Big Ticket".
During a Friday presser, CF German Ramos accidentally let the moniker slip when
talking about returning players and up and coming youngsters. He was asked
about players he'd like to stick around long term, "Well, when you talk
about young guys to build around, you need to be talking about Tommy, Nelson,
Rivera, and of course The Big Ticket".
The nickname stuck with fans and now talk radio has used on
a regular basis.
Looking to upgrade at defense, the Texans are shopping 2B
Jesse Clark. "It's going to take a solid contact hitter with elite defense
in order to get Clark", says GM Michael Carroll. "Right now we are
playing it by ear, but I'm not going to trade away Clark for anything less than
a Gold Glove caliber player".
